Curry + Beer Cycle.

A cycle around Lough Gill fuelled by curry and beer!
Get in touch if you want to experience slow travel/slow food at its finest!

There are many environmental, physical and mental benefits of cycling, but high on my list is the self congratulatory guilt free indulgence after a cycle – or even during a cycle!

The Cycle

Join us on a cycle around Lough Gill, one of Ireland’s most beautiful lakes so beloved of the poet WB.Yeats, and experience the stunning Sligo countryside. Along the way your thirst and appetite will be satisfied and tastebuds tantalised.

We will start our cycle in Sligo town.  The 40km route will take you through pastoral, hedge lined countryside and rugged hills with the gleaming Lough Gill as your companion.

At the half way mark on our cycle a nutritious home cooked lunch will be served by Mike and Jo at their home at Edergole Kitchen near the village of Dromahair.  After lunch you will continue around the lake and meet James, the owner of Lough Gill Brewery.  James will give you a tour of his brewery outlining his process and allowing you an odd tipple or two of his delicious craft beer!

Edergole Kitchen.

Based in Dromahair, Co. Leitrim, The Edergole Kitchen is a family-run, vegan catering company that hosts regular supper clubs and vegan cookery classes.

Servicing Leitrim, Sligo, and the North-West of Ireland, the business is run by Mike Harris and Jo Lewis. They’ve been living, working and cooking together since they met over twenty five years ago. For eight years they ran the award winning ‘Heathers’ vegan and vegetarian restaurant in London, winning awards from the AA, Time Out Magazine, The Vegan Society and multiple complimentary reviews in the national press.

Lough Gill Brewery.

Founded in 2016 the award winning Lough Gill Brewery restored the lost tradition of brewing in a town that once hosted 5 breweries.  It is located close to the shores of the mythical Lough Gill which is also its water source and main ingredient in all the beers. The brewery team takes pride in each beer they brew and where possible add some local indigenous ingredients to give their beers a unique taste.
